First position

What to do when something hurts or you have a long term injury?
Firstly , don’t panic.  You are the same person you were yesterday, and do not want to be treated differently.

Many teachers will insist that dancers observe any class they miss, .  Although, for students who are off for very long periods this process can be extremely taken off gaurd and unproductive ; not only do you  learn very little from the experience, but watching your friends in dance class  gain in strength  while you in turn grow weaker and less capable is beyond terrifying. Decide on a case-by-case basis what classes may and may not be  beneficial for the you to watch, rather than you telling yourself you have to attend all dance classes.
